I use what I weigh to steer my eating for that day. If I'm at the top of my normal window, I eat less. If I'm near the bottom, I'll allow myself to eat more.
I should add that my window is about 10 pounds heavier than it was a couple of years ago when I started light weight training. I ballooned by about 20 pounds during the first 6 months. It freaked me out. A minor injury forced me to stop for 6 months and I lost 10 pounds during that time that I"ve managed to not regain.
I never want to be heavier than I am today. I have a young wife who loves to travel and I need to stay nimble for her.
