ok.......TIME OUT

Wow, this is a hot topic. Lets all remember to be considerate of others and not derogatory. Except for the trolls we are here to keep each other informed and entertained and provide therapy for one another when needed. Most of us are on the same team here.

So, DSMoriarty you were bold enough to use something close to what could be your real name so that gives you a little credibility in my mind. Your timing doesn't seem right, given where the process stands according to published reports, seeing any type of definitive announcement before June seems unrealistic. It makes sense that the there would be some cooperation or at least consultation between the conferences given that there will be ramifications to all conferences. I would expect that BYU would at least have been contacted but it doesn't appear that they have been. Northern Utah is much more collegiate focused than Denver is since we don't have a professional Football team so that angle makes sense and I know from spending time in Denver that the college fans there are just as likely to prefer Oklahoma or Nebraska over CU since many of them are flatland transplants.

So what is your motive here? I don't see how you benefit from putting yourself out there like you have. If you like seeing us respondents waste our time on you then that is disappointing, hope it was worth it. It seems like your honestly trying to convey meaningful information to us, if that is the case then thank you.

I am a full-on proponent of getting BYU into another conference so we don't have to freak out so much over a loss, I believe being part of a better conference will make more path's available to us to get to the top which is where we want to be. BYU is a beacon for light and knowledge and of our faith so most of us seek to give it more visibility, for our students to be given the greatest opportunity to succeed and to positively influence the world. It would be great if our union with Yewtah and TCU could bring the MWC that same level of opportunity but even if that were to happen we would still be faced with having SDSU, Wyoming, and CSU on our schedule every year which just doesn't elicit a lot of opportunity and excitement. I believe that if BYU's influence is to expand that we are going to need to look East to the Big XII. I feel like we already have enough momentum in the West. I like that there seems to be less animosity toward BYU in the East than there is in the West. I saw one article that stated if BYU were in the PAC 10 it would replace Oregon as the team/school that the rest of the conference would hate. As much as I like that being hated is a reflection of our success, it still doesn't feel good to be hated.
