...but, I think I can understand the reasoning. Utah was a bigger player in the MWC. They could get players that wanted to be on a good team and have a chance to play for a championship. However, if they go to the Pac-10, then they may just be mediocre and lose some of the talent that wants to play for a team in the Pac-10 that they believe will compete for a championship (like USC and Oregon). The best talent will still go to the top teams of the Pac-10 and the worry would be that they lesser talent will be spread out between WSU, Utah, and any other lesser Pac-10 team.
