I read that they got a lot of criticism last year from gay advocate groups because they didn't treat the Cam/Mitchell relationship the same as the other in terms of displaying affection. You can see a deliberate change in the way they've handled the relationship this year, and while it doesn't bug me at all, I do think it's interesting to see the way external forces can have an impact on the direction of a show.
