RE: I certainly wasn't saying sex = kissing

--do you think God disapproves of two men kissing in a romantic/passionate way?

Like I said, I don't know. Nor is it my place to attempt to find out. It's none of my business what people do, and I'm perfectly content to live and let live as long as it doesn't cause anyone any real harm.

--but that hardly means he loves all they do

Of course He doesn't. That isn't the issue. The issue is how we, His children, treat each other. And I think that passing judgment and being critical of others for behaviors which we find distateful is not in harmony with the commandments.

--If someone associates kissing and sex (rather than equating the two), then it explains why they would be unsettled by it if they also shared the view that homosexual sex was an abomination.

Heterosexual relations out of wedlock are also a grievous sin, but you won't find many people who object to an unmarried man and woman passionately kissing on screen or in public. Why not? Because we've allowed our pettiness and hate to craft a societal "norm" which we allow to dictate our emotional responses to things, and that is a real shame. Should someone find themselves dealt a different hand of cards than the "norm", they find themselves dying to conform, becoming a rebel and an outcast, or removing themselves from the world altogether.
