The issue was whether it was hateful or understandable to be disgusted by two homosexual men kissing and demonstrating homosexual affection. Consequently, it was relevant whether God condones such behavior -- it is not hateful to be disgusted by behavior which even the Lord cannot look upon with the least degree of allowance and finds to be an abomination.

Your talk of "norms" misses the point -- others are talking about morality or immorality.
