It can be boiled down to emotion

This is an emotional game.

Last time this game was played in RES, BYU insisted on doing the tribal war dance, even though it was past time for kick-off and officials were trying to get them to stop. Utah came over to say hey, don't disrespect our house when you are obviously doing this no matter what.

Max Hall and others got in the faces of Utah players then as well. I am sure they were not just saying "we are allowed to do this so please don't try to stop us...."

My guess is that it goes both ways more than you think. Perhaps words were said from the BYU side that provoked the Utah players this year. I really don't think they are going to just do that on their own. I may be wrong but you have to agree this is a possibility. One that I think is accurate. One that neither of us know the answer to. Jan Jorgenson, on the radio, has said he talked smack constantly with players from opposing teams. Utah players were likely being reactive yesterday.

How about your #16 being the toughest guy on the field every kick off or kick return? He was constantly in the face of Utah players. The entire game. And for no reason.

Now for the unruly fans yelling at Bronco. Sorry that happened. They should have shown more class than that.

But again, emotions run high and folks do and say things they shouldn't. Take Max Hall in the media last season. He showed real class with his comments about class. Perhaps he showed it was ok to do those types of things.

It's a rivalry. BYU has had comments, players flip the bird at Utah fans, made post gam remarks that are intended to hurt, etc. Don't just point the finger at Utah fans or players. Even as wrong as they are in doing the things they may have done.

I think it is just emotion. By the way, if BYU fans and players were the ones doing that, and I am sure some were, would you be asking the same question? Didn't think so. You would say it was the emotion of the game.
