I wouldn't put it past them. How many funny
excuses did we hear after Utah won the Sugar Bowl.
It'd be something like this, "BYU is undefeated, and sure they beat a handful of good teams, but they also had a bunch of easy game against teams like Idaho and Idaho State. They couldn't handle the week in and week out schedule a BCS team goes through. Look at Utah, who was once like BYU...they are facing that type of schedule and went 6-6. BYU would probably do the same if they were in the same position."
Is this logic correct? No. Would it be used? I think that it certainly would.
