There was only 15 games that were on a network capable of receiving a high enough rating to be listed by Nielsen that contained zero BCS teams (includes ND). Note that 9 of them contained at least one team with a perceived "national" following based on a different kind of make-up of their fan base (religious/military). They are Army, Navy, AF, ND and BYU - I suppose TCU with the "Christian" fans could fit in that as well but since their game was against BYU it already falls under that.

It took a conference championship game on ABC where if Houston wins they go to a BCS game to beat UCF vs BYU on ESPN on a Friday night.

Note also that BYU was in 5 of those 15 games.

One thing to note - if ESPN really felt that there were better games/teams that could have pulled in better ratings than BYU in their time slots they would not have left us in those time slots...they would have pushed us to even less desirable time slots to meet their contractual obligations and played different teams at the times we played. They also would not have put us in more games than their minimum contract required them to do.
