You have to make way too many assumptions to claim that Kalani is responsible for ruining the program.
Assumption #1 - Kalani was responsible for the offensive staff hires. He probably wasn't.
Assumption #2 - Kalani was responsible for the worst injury rate I think I've ever seen in one season.
Assumption #3 - Kalani was responsible for the dip from year 1 to year 2. In reality, a dip was almost assured after year 1. There was sure to be a leadership vacuum with Warner, Jamaal, Taysom, Kai, and others leaving. Kalani took over a team that was stacked with seniors and not much after that.
Assumption #4 - Kalani has ruined the program because of one bad season.
I'm with you on the OP. My expectations aren't as low as most on here. I believe Kalani can right the ship and I think he's humble enough and willing enough to learn from past mistakes. He's already proved he's willing to get rid of a BYU legend who was terrible at his job, clean house on the offensive side of the ball, and hire a really great candidate. I have plenty of hope for the future.
