Back to the main point of my post. There's no "difference" to be made up. The Savior paid the price — he satisfied the whole demands of justice.
To those who qualify, he offers His grace which allows for redemption and exaltation.
We cannot do anything to save ourselves. However, we can qualify for the Savior's Grace — which does involve being/doing something.
So, in terms of saving ourselves--we pay 0 of the price.
In terms of qualifying for grace, we do the best we can. It does depend on what we do and who we become.
