Everybody gets as much as they are willing to receive.
That's the difference between someone who ends up the the celestial kingdom and someone who ends up in the telestial kingdom. The one in the celestial kingdom was willing to let Jesus give him that, while the other guy wasn't willing.
Submitting our will to the will of God is literally "all that we can do" in terms of our salvation. It's the one thing Jesus cannot do for us. But everything else that is needed to save us is given to us through God's grace.
