Whose perception?
Go and look at the recruits BYU could land in 2005 and 2006 versus now. BYU recruited really well under Crowton. Then Mendenhall took that talent and had a great run. After that recruiting has never been near what it was 2000-2004. The one blip of a class was 2010 but unfortunately many of them just did not materialize.
