1) I imagine this is a pretty low expenditure of taxpayer money, and I generally think that people with COVID (or potential exposure) aren't looking to harm other people so would not have incentive to hide their "bomb."
2) Yeah, that one is a fair cost on the other side. Not exactly sure how the responses will come in; I was under the impression that you would get a text directing you to a form from reading the article.
3) Yes, they can do that. But I don't see what the motivation to lie about that would be. I generally think people will try to be socially responsible, but maybe that's too optimistic of a worldview.
4) How does that violate interstate commerce laws? Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, Texas are all doing some form of this...I haven't read anything that indicates this is illegal to ask questions of people coming into your state. I don't see how this is different than getting asked if I have fruit in my possession when I enter California or Hawaii.
5) I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there...
