oranges, no matter what the qualitative differences, both are fruits being sold at a fruit stand. The cheapest Apples costing $900/cellphone are more expensive to the consumer than oranges at $300/cellphone.
I don’t care if Apple has better everything if my budget is $400. Just like minivan-driving soccer moms don’t care if the Lambo goes from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.
If the market for cellphones at $900 is sufficient to fund apple’s wants and needs there is no reason to change. If Samsung users hate that most of the world is willing to pay $1200 for an overpriced and under-utilized handheld computer with a phone on the side and therefore they have to pay that much for comparable tech, so be it. That’s the market.
That’s all I’m trying to say.
I may agree with you that the average Apple laptop outperforms the average Microsoft surface but that’s a different discussion. This convo is about money from consumers in my opinion.
