Cadillac Escalade because I don’t want what the extra $20k gives me. I’ll take my lease-return suburban and be just fine. Doesn’t mean the Escalade isn’t a more excellent vehicle. It’s just that I’m not willing to pay for more excellence because I don’t need it when schlepping a bunch of deacons around.
It’s not a question of quality so much as it is a question of what people are willing to pay.
If the Apple logo and the blue text box is what makes it worth it then they’re priced exactly correct. If your teenager is going to run over it 3 times a year, perhaps you get the $150 Samsung instead.
Market forces at work. I’m fine with it.
