Meh. An insurance doc denies a study. Whatever. A plaintiffs hired gun
Who is speaking nonsense on the stand ruins your life.
Sure both suck - but you can usually work around the insurance angle.
The other drags you through the mud with the scum lawyers
So a Huge difference on the evil scale imo-

I think it depends. It seems medical witnesses will argue whatever the lawyer is

Rates look standard. I think anything on the other side is hard to justify

This is what I'm thinking. If I was being sued, I would want myself as a witness

But the people I hate most in the world are doctors who work for insurance

Worse. Much worse. This is taking down a doc or attempting to do so

But what if the Dr. Really is dangerous?

Personally I don’t think “dangerous” docs survive in most markets these days

I don’t think these as true third party arbitration where you are neutral

I think it depends. I reviewed a case for a lawyer who was defending a doc

A very small subspecialty in cancer

The legal community would expect you to be expensive
