Corn Pop All-American

is the start/run capacitor on the outdoor unit. It’s a cheap part and a relatively easy DIY. Will cost a couple hundred on a service call, though.

You might be able to see ice on the copper lines coming from the condenser

There is some ice on the pipe coming out of the unit.

If the ice has gotten all the way to the outside lines, I'd bet you have lots of ice inside your unit right now.

Yes. You turn off the power. Then you go into the room where the a/c unit is inside your house. You unscrew the metal
