Paid $150 to get it diagnosed and replaced, when it was a 12 dollar part I could have easily replaced myself. I felt a little bit of DIY shame.

You might be able to see ice on the copper lines coming from the condenser

There is some ice on the pipe coming out of the unit.

If the ice has gotten all the way to the outside lines, I'd bet you have lots of ice inside your unit right now.

Yes. You turn off the power. Then you go into the room where the a/c unit is inside your house. You unscrew the metal
