But that's not an apples to apples comparison. The landlord assumes greater risk
when leasing per person instead of per apartment. Yes, 6 x however much is charged will generally be more than the price to rent an entire apartment, but the students aren't assuming the risk to fill all of those butts in apartments.

It's the compiled rent for each apt that gets crazy. Say a student pays $450/mo & shares with 6 other people.
