Yes, a lot of games were scheduled one on top of the other. A part of it was TV timeouts for commercials would run over.

No. As others have commented: Fox had a better production across the board for CFB. I don’t remember the exact logistics

Seems like each team ought to supply their own TV cameras to ensure the best quality production.

ESPN knows how long a football game lasts. They'd rather run over than under.

ESPN/ABC has 4 networks vs 3 so more chance to land on TV and not streaming
