It has been very frustrating the last few years that ESPN can’t figure out how to allot enough time between games. How many times last year would the broadcast not start until the game had already been 5-10 minutes into the first quarter? They were still on the previous game that had not finished yet.
Or what about the potato cameras they were using. They kept forgetting the HD 4k cameras and all our games ended up in standard definition low quality broadcasts.
Or what about when some of the “on air” personalities where sitting in Bristol Connecticut at desks doing the play by play for the football or basketball games?
The quality of production was so much better even when it was done by BYUTV. Or there was one or two games on Fox that was so much better quality than the crap ESPN was doing. ESPN seemed to just be mailing it in when it came to broadcasting and not overlaying that end/start times of the games being broadcast.
Yeah, I’m not very excited about that quality of product being how we will get to watch BYU sports going forward into the near future.
I will be happy if someone can tell me I will pleasantly surprised going forward because something from the last few years will change.
Or am I misremembering things? Am I being overly dramatic about the ESPN broadcasts over the last few years? Was it really not that frustrating dealing with ESPN quality over the last few years?
