I certainly didn't mean that
I think we are debating a national perception here. At some point, past achievements lose a little bit of luster. They don't lose luster for those who experienced them. In fact, they may even become more meaningful. But for your average CFB fan or your average kid who is getting ready to play football in college, achievements that occurred 30 years ago may not hold the same value as achievements from the past 10 years.
