Utah 12, BYU 8 but why only 20 years
why not 25 then it is Utah 13, BYU 12. So you get to selectively by pass some of our best years in the early 90s and late 80s and cash in on our darkest years. However if you look at the 90's and 2000's we are 10-10. So you can selectively use time points to make any arguement you want, but the truth is that our teams have been fairly equal in wins and losses, BYU has beat Utah in over all total number of rankings in the past twenty years.

The one and only thing that you can hang over our heads is from 2004 to present with two big bowl wins.

However in your post you make it sound as if Utah had some huge advantage on football success over the past twenty years that makes Utah an obvious pick over BYU in terms of Pac 12 membership which is completely false. The terms of on field success isn't so defining to rule out BYU. Plain and simple you are in the Pac12 because you are not affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That is the sole reason, the only reason that Utah beat out BYU. In terms of expansion characteristics BYU is such a better candidate it is not even close, that is why BYU could go independent and Utah could not even come close. Our only down side is church affiliation. You can tell yourself through selective statistics that Utah has head and shoulders outperformed BYU on the field in such away that the Pac12 looked over your crappy facilities, small fan base, and terrible academics, but you are probably the only person that could logically do so.
