I think you overestimate the decline in property values/standard of living that a homeless shelter will cause in an
area.
I lived across the street from a homeless shelter for 3 years. We never had any problems. Homeless people need a place to live. Housing them is the Christian thing to do. So often they are single mothers or the mentally ill. We should be extending our hands to them.... not pushing them away. They need our help.

Scatter-site homeless shelters are the best method for providing housing for the poor. I'm disappointed that the Draper sites are so far away from better parts of Draper.

(full disclosure - I own property in Draper and would support more centrally located homeless shelters - they really should be close to 123rd).
