Evidence is clear that concentrating large number of homeless people in one area is terrible social policy. Condensing
poverty in one place only ensures that the poor stay poor.

The goal is to help people assimilate back into self sufficiency - especially important is getting homeless kids in an uplifting environment. Nothing could be better for a homeless teen than a strong young mens/women program. A close second would be to get these kids into successful schools.

Scatter site homeless shelters are superior. But they require all neighborhoods should take in their fair share. I'm hopeful that the residence of the East side of SLC catch this vision.
