Florida State has been better than Maryland for the past 50 years

I made up that number, but hopefully you get the point. FSU was better this year and pretty much always is. Maryland wasn't expected to be a challenging opponent, and certainly didn't turn out to be. UCF scheduled down for nonconference games. Of the 4 they scheduled, only 1 was a challenging opponent in theory. They didn't end up playing each other anyway.
