And FSU was 5-6 in games that should have counted (their IAA opponent shouldn't have counted for bowl eligibility).
UCF didn't try "to play the easiest set of nonconf opponents imaginable." Rather, they scheduled a Big 10 and ACC team OOC. Those are both mid-level P5 opponents.
