Utah beat a much tougher schedule than UCF.
UCF's schedule was #72 on Sagarin after beating Auburn. Utah's was #56 after beating Bama. Utah beat the following teams who finished ranked in the AP: #25 BYU (10-3), #18 OR ST (9-4), #7 TCU (11-2), #6 Bama (12-2). UCF beat #25 Memphis (10-3) and #10 Auburn (10-4).
So Utah's resume was better than UCF's. Now the argument about should they have been #4 is different. But they have no better claim to a national title than 2008 Utah does.
