Why aren't BYU-Idaho/Hawai'i ranked comparably then?

Football elevated BYU's profile and overall appeal. Just look at the spike in applications that occur for schools that win football championships or get to Final Fours. The increase in LDS population over the years combined with its low tuition while tuition was rising much faster nationally accounts for the rest.
