Yes, successful athletics can increase appeal and, thus, increase demand for a school, which reduces acceptance rates and raises the bar for incoming classes. But that doesn't at all mean that students are free-loading from the school's prior strategy to increase demand. They had to earn their way in through a very tough admissions process.
