Because in the MWC, you don't play Tennessee.
You open at Utah, then USC and UW. Or you play Tennessee and swap UW out for a FCS team.
That gets you healthy again. Instead of playing UW then Toledo and running out of steam (BYU jumped out to a big lead vs Toledo), you play Weber State then Toledo.
You beat Toledo and head into the other games with a 4-1 record.
