And yet..nobody cares because they are G5. I am guessing less
than 10% of sports fans across the country could name Boise’s coach without looking it up. Boise is the G5 everyone loves to pat on the head and say “you’re doing great” but the only time they enter someone's mind is when they beat a P5 and people will say “man those guys will beat you if you’re not careful.”
Boise can be favored against a P5 and win and the story will be that Boise upset a P5. People know Boise can beat P5s but the program isn’t respected like a P5. Not even close. Boise is actually the perfect argument against going to a G5 conference. They’ve accomplished a lot and nobody cares. They’re that G5 that has had a good run. An undefeated Boise isn’t going to the playoffs.
