Intervention Needed
They do plenty of stupid stuff when I am looking
But they respect guns.
That’s how I was as a kid too.
Don’t get me wrong, I did plenty of stupid and irresponsible stuff as a kid, but never with firearms.

Apart from just getting a safe, how do you protect guns from your kids?

Get a safe but trigger locks also work.

Take away the “forbidden fruit“ aspect of guns

I took my kids to the range and trained them. Then they lost all curiosity

If over 10 (maybe 8 depending on the kid), take them target shooting, teach them

1 Tell kids you will let them see the gun(s) any time they ask.

Keep ammo in a safe place away from the gun. Don’t let your guard down.

Aside from a safe, teach them how to use it and make it as boring as possible.

Perhaps your wife should go through professional firearms training first...
