just realize that the language shocks you, but not most people. So its more of a
you thing than it is a hamilton thing. But good on you for having standards.

The language could have been much much much worse. Hip hop tends to use stronger language in general, but Hamilton is pretty mild. Impropriety was part of Hamiltons story. The Reynolds pamphlet and the affair it described was a major event in his story. It affected his political trajectory and his family. I don't think certain words and themes were put in just for shock value. The main reason i think that is that i don't think most people are shocked by some of the language that was used. It didn't bother me, i thought it actually was clever and my guess is war time soldiers and angry politicians probably used a lot of colorful language back then.
