Don't agree.
1) Particularly in the Disney version the language is largely implied anyway. And it's far from gratuitous. I would argue that it is included in the spirit of the musical: to make the topic relatable to its intended audience. I work in defense. If you were scandalized by Hamilton, five minutes with the Marines would make you weep.

2) All I'm going to say is that Hamilton has been WAY more successful than Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

3) If you read Hamilton's biography you get a better feel for the mountain of material Lin Manuel Miranda had to summarize to come up with a watchable musical. Even at that, there are references to the benefit NY was getting from the debt plan as opposed to Virginia:

Jefferson: "But Hamilton forgets
His plan would have the government assume state's debts
Now, place your bets as to who that benefits
The very seat of government where Hamilton sits

Oh, if the shoe fits, wear it
If New York's in debt why should Virginia bear it?
Uh, our debts are paid, I'm afraid
Don't tax the South 'cause we got it made in the shade
In Virginia, we plant seeds in the ground
We create, you just wanna move our money around
This financial plan is an outrageous demand"
