Busiturtle Intervention Needed
My reading shows Jefferson did temper his libertarian views
He witnessed the violent anarchy of the French revolution and that forced him to accept that populist revolt did not necessarily lead to good outcomes.

Recall that Jefferson and John Adams were friends, then enemies and then friends again. They had different political views but they shared a love of liberty and of the country.

Perhaps Hamilton also would have mellowed with age.
