A city’s homeless problem in many ways is sort of a “if you build it, they will come” kind of a thing because homeless people migrate to areas with resources and city, county and state governments are also known to direct homeless to other communities as well.
I know this because someone I’m very close with is a political leader in their community and was touring the St. George homeless facility last weekend. Apparently St. George has handed the entire operation over to a 3rd party organization who “specializes” in homeless care and facilities and this political leader I know is being approached by this 3rd party company to do the same thing in their community that’s been done in st. George.
I’ve been going to st. George since before it was a popular weekend getaway and vacation spot and I do not recall seeing homeless there, ever... until the city started providing resources.
