I don't think that's the case in either of these scenarios.
Kona wasn't playing because he had very, very good players in front of him that were better than he was. Ziggy wasn't starting because he was still learning the basics and even more so, learning to be effective (as well as having a very good player in front of him). He was already starting to play more as a senior before Manu went down and likely would have seen his reps continue to grow as he played effectively. Maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree. Ziggy was just plain bad as a soph and jr when he got in the game.
