One tip we're going to start doing with our troop:
Have the boys pre-slice or pre-whatever the ingredients so everything is ready to go once at the campsite.

We've recently started using the DO's within the past year. You can make really good dinners fairly cheaply, and really, fairly easily. And you can have variety, as there's so many recipes out there.

Our problem has been set up, and there's been many camp outs where the ovens don't even get put on the coals till after 9:00. It's not that cutting and peeling all the vegetables is hard, it just takes time when you're trying to get the boys to do it themselves in the middle of them setting up their tents for the night.

People always get scared cause it sounds like DO cooking is a lot of work. It really isn't. If you can make a tinfoil dinner, you can use a DO.
