BYU and its status and reputation doesn't revolve around football. It is ranked among the top 2% of universities in the country...and moving up each year. Its business school is the ranked #32 with engineering and law schools not far behind. Using the Directors' Cup as a barometer, its sports programs have averaged #30 overall since the Cup's inception.

Take all those numbers and double or triple them and you'll find Utah or USU. Utah is a one trick pony in sports (maybe two trick with women's gymnastics).

If you think the BOT spend a lot of time on BYU football, or even should, you've looking through the wrong end of the telescope.

The problem is that so many CB "fans" are living their unfulfilling lives vicariously through BYU football. When BYU football tanks, their self-esteem plunges and they lose all perspective. My suggestion: Get a life beyond football; it's only a game.
