Comparing Utah in the PAC to Indiana in the B1G is not apples to apples...
Indiana has been in the B1G for many years. It's not a big deal to them. There is no "novelty" about being in the B1G for the Hoosiers. Of course they would have an issue with the conference forcing them to change the appearance of their home court. They don't want to mess with the traditional look of their floor. And, nobody likes to be told what to do or be forced to do something like that. It's not surprising at all that Indiana wouldn't be happy about this situation.

Utah being in the PAC is not the same thing. The Utes are still very new to the conference. Being able to move up from the MWC to the PAC was extremely huge to Utah. A major game changer! It represents a completely different and exciting future, tons of extra revenue from the conference alliance, solid schedule vs. good opponents, etc.

Of course BYU fans are going to find Utah's excitement about being in the PAC annoying and obnoxious. Most fans that cheer for your rival are annoying no matter where you live in this country. Utah in the PAC is still a very new concept to Utes fans. The "newness" will wear off soon. The PAC logos and stickers won't last much longer. The honeymoon phase will end soon.

I'm sure if I were in your shoes I'd be annoyed with the Utes too regarding their conference pride...but, complaining about our excitement is also lame. It comes across as bitter and jealous.
