Sorry for my third or fourth thread in the last six months about the SP3, but I am very slow to make purchasing decisions (I'm a research and compare guy almost to a fault).

I want something to handle general PC tasks (word processing, video playback, light video editing, etc.) without bogging down. I also want it to be powerful enough spec-wise to have a smooth user experience for the next four years or so.

I also want a laptop/laplet that is attractive and innovative. Functionality is most important factor, but who doesn't like having a cool device?

If you were to make an argument talking me out of an SP3, what device would you suggest I get instead? The budget I set for myself is about $1300, which gets an SP3 with 256gb SSD, i5, and 8gb ram. What else would you look at that's powerful, portable, and cool at that pricepoint?

ps: I have a really powerful desktop at home for heavy lifting. TIA
