It's interesting to me to see the possible shift in the winds, seems it was only
a decade ago or so that some of the church leadership wanted out of the education business altogether. My recollection was that they felt LDS youth should go to whatever school they chose and be a part of the well established institute system and spread the gospel far and wide.

Instead, we have one major magnet school that breeds contempt in every member that is denied acceptance, while members struggle with tithing funds going to the school they don't like.

Interesting, that's all.
