The real question that nobody is asking in all of this is...

...with a medical school and all of the research dollars that will inevitably follow, will BYU finally qualify as a "very high research activity" university that is worthy (in the eyes of the Pac-12 snobs) of an invite to the Pac-14? If yes, I say spend whatever it takes.
