Seems like you're not aware of what the conversation was between Jope and I. Which is overall an insignificant part of a larger point. That they've done so WITHOUT being loaded with 4 star recruits (and non existent 5 star). Do you not realize that is the point here?

You're spouting all of this stuff like it has to happen, with no ability to explain how it will be accomplished just like that. First, factor out the top tier LDS kids who just flat out have no interest in BYU. They will always exist and the numbers will grow as there are more and more of them who want to play big time.
Then, you have to figure out how to get more. You don't all of the sudden do it. One step at a time. How is that? By stepping up the part of recruiting that matters more for a place like BYU. Starting by decreasing the lower end guys and adding 5-10 more 3 star guys is more valuable than even one 4 star.
Then you have to win with those guys and earn the respect of the big name kids. The other schools did it. BYU has to. It's a lot easier to say no to the lower end kids and land some better looking middle of the pack guys. Then the others will come. And even then sorry but BYU isn't landing six+ 4 stars every class. Be realistic about BYU. It's far more realistic, thus important, to fix recruiting where they need it most, which is NOT at the top end.

You said no, other teams don't load up on 4 stars every year and still play well... Well, follow recruiting a bit more. They do, and I named a few.

So yeah, it's funny because it's not new to me either. I was saying all of this long before people like Jake Kuresa said the exact same thing about the difference between BYU's recruiting under Bronco and programs like Utah and TCU.
