It's pretty easy for you to sit here after the fact and declare that the guy shouldn't be killed for just stealing stuff. In the moment, when he's in your house, IN YOUR KID'S ROOM, you have no way of knowing what he intends to do. And if he makes one single move to threaten me or my family, yes, the trigger will be pulled.
