Well, the issue is what defines "reasonable fear of imminent peril or great
bodily injury?"
The Sheriff was John McGinness who was the Sacramento County head for several years.
And I remember him stating that just a home intruder did not fit that definition....
The example he gave was that if you pull the gun on an intruder, if their hands go up, you don't shoot. If they come at you, you do.
