Interesting. That being said, how does the recruiting process even get started?

That is, how do college coaches even begin to hear about potential recruits? It seems like everyone has a highlight video these days. Does BYU just rely on their contacts in key BYU-recruiting areas (UT, AZ, SoCal, etc.) and limit their searches that way?
