OremDad Walk-on
My parents died young and then my last surviving grandparent died later at
age 92, so I actually received an inheritance twice. It was about 100k both times. On top of that, my wife's parents don't want to wait until they die to distribute their assets, so we have received about 40k from them so far.

Needless to say, we payed off all our debts and stopped worrying about our budget long ago. We have also been able to fully fund a Roth IRA for myself and spouse; have socked away a good amount in each of our four children's 529 educations savings plans; have remodeled our kitchen; and have a family fund set aside with what remains (about 1/3) just for family reunions and vacations. We have been able to do things as a family we never would have been able to before...

Despite all these blessings, I would much rather have my parents back. It kind of sucks being parent-less in your mid-30s.
